In a bid to address the issue of problem gambling in the country, the Danish Gambling Authority has unveiled a new website, StyrPåSpillet.dk, aiming to centralize information on gambling and compulsive gaming.

Designed as an informational hub, the platform collates resources on gambling and its compulsive aspects. With a primary focus on parents and professionals like teachers, the site features materials, articles, and reports curated by the Danish Gambling Authority.

Moreover, it offers direct access to educational content tailored for students aged 13-15, intended for use by teachers in primary and lower secondary schools. StyrPåSpillet.dk is also a resource hub for students researching gambling and compulsive gaming for assignments, providing them with relevant statistics and data.

A key component of the website is the podcast “Vi snakker om spillet” (“We talk about the game”). This podcast serves as a platform for individuals to share their personal experiences with gambling addiction, aiming to provide insights and narratives from those directly affected by problem gambling.

StyrPåSpillet is part of the Danish Parliament’s efforts against compulsive gambling, the ‘2023-to-2025 strategy.’ These also include mandatory player-ID verifications at all land-based gambling venues and an extension of the self-exclusion scheme ROFUS to cover both land-based and online gambling, blocking new registrants from participating in brick-and-mortar betting shops starting October 1.
