The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) has announced a public hearing for Wednesday, Aug. 28, to discuss the slot machine operator license renewal for Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course in Grantville.

The hearing will take place at the East Hanover Township Building, 8848 Jonestown Road, Grantville, at 10:30 a.m.

The session is open to the public, inviting citizens, public officials, and community groups to present their views. Those interested in providing testimony, either in person or in writing, must register on the PGCB website by noon on Monday, Aug. 26, Penn Live reported.

Written testimonies can be submitted through the PGCB website, via email at [email protected], faxed to 717-265-7416, or mailed to PA Gaming Control Board, 303 Walnut Street, 5th Floor Commonwealth Tower, Harrisburg, PA 17101, Attention: Board Clerk.

A list of registered speakers will be available on the PGCB website a week before the hearing and updated daily.

This hearing is the first of a two-step process for the license renewal. The second step involves a separate public hearing in Harrisburg, where Hollywood Casino representatives will present evidence and arguments, and PGCB members may ask additional questions, the report said.

The burden of proof lies with Hollywood Casino to demonstrate its eligibility and suitability for license renewal. During the hearing, the casino must provide clear and convincing evidence of its good character, honesty, integrity, compliance with conditions, tax revenue generation, job creation, success in diversity plan implementation, and community involvement.
