Another huge win occurred from the Louisiana Lottery after a woman turned up at the Baton Rouge headquarters to claim her Easy 5 jackpot.
The Winner Doesn’t Hesitate – Claims Lump Sum
The winner had won $120,000 from the game back on May 23 and opted for the lump-sum payment, amounting to $87,601.46 after all applicable state and federal tax withholdings.
The winning ticket itself was sold at Wag-A-Park II, with the venue also getting a cut, located on Highway 20 West in Vacherie. The store owner, one Amro Saeed, was excited about the winnings and welcomed the opportunity to have sold the winning ticket.
“We have a lot of loyal customers that try their luck daily, and it feels great that one of them can experience that feeling of winning big,” Saeed said, speaking to the lottery and commenting on the happy event.
Jackpots across Louisiana continue to drop, with April specifically seeing 11 Powerball winners in the state, scooping between $1 million and $2 million each.
Another huge jackpot in Louisiana was won earlier this year when a man managed to scoop the eye-watering $775,00 prize from the January 3 drawing. The winner opted for the lump-sum payment, coming down to $565,750 after all applicable state and federal taxes.
