One lucky player in Missouri had a feeling that his favorite game would bring him good fortune – and it did.
The lottery veteran bought a scratch-off ticket on impulse and was immediately rewarded for his loyalty to the game, scooping a $100,000 prize.
The game? 24K Gold, which the player said was a favorite of his. In fact, 24K Gold has brought him some small prizes in the past, and he remembered it fondly, although he has been alternating between different games as well.
However, not having played the game for a while immediately put him in the mind of buying the ticket he had spotted by chance.
“I hadn’t seen it in a while, so when I was in the gas station, I saw that yellow and said, ‘Ooh, 24K Gold,” the player who chose to remain anonymous added.
The ticket was purchased from Raymore Smokes & Liquor on South Madison Avenue in Raymore and has earned him the six-figure prize, which he chose to take home as a lump sum.
The man also admitted that the win was nothing like his previous ones, having previously scooped, at most, a $1,000 payout. It was all a bit of a shock, the man added.
The player, who is retired, said that the money would now go towards household appliances as well as a bit of a boost to his golden years.
In April, another Missouri player got lucky as they won $1 million from the Powerball.
