After a few slower drawings, the Powerball game seems to be back at it, awarding two seven-figure prizes to lucky winners across America. The jackpot, on the other hand, has survived, surpassing the $300 million mark.
Two Seven-Figure Prizes Were Won
The Saturday drawing saw Powerball players compete for a mouth-watering jackpot of $300 million with a one-time lump sum option of $135.8 million. Regardless of whether a hypothetical winner had selected the annuity or the cash, their life would have surely been changed forever.
However, as of the time of this writing, a sixth Powerball jackpot for 2026 remains a dream. The June 20 drawing did not elect a winner as no one managed to match the winning combination. Speaking of which, the winning numbers for the drawing were 16, 20, 44, 48, and 50, plus the red Powerball 15. The Power Play multiplier, on the other hand, was 2x.
While no one succeeded in grabbing the top prize, two players came incredibly close. One player in Pennsylvania, for example, matched all five white numbers without the red Powerball, turning their ticket into a $1 million Match 5 prize. At the same time, a player in Florida matched the same numbers, but had the Power Play feature active, which netted them a staggering $2 million payout.
In addition to that, some 19 players matched four white numbers and the Powerball. A dozen such players are eligible to redeem their tickets for prizes of $50,000, while seven others had the Power Play feature active and will instead take home $100,000 each.
In the meantime, Powerball’s top prize has reached $312 million with a cash option of $141.2 million. The next drawing is set to take place later today.
Powerball Awarded Match 5 Prizes to Players in California
The two Powerball Match 5 prizes come shortly after a player in California won a Match 5 prize from the game. This mirrored a similar win that happened earlier this month. However, due to California’s unique way of calculating prizes, both players will likely receive sums different than the usual $1 million.
Previously, the Powerball game experienced a seasonal lull, with a few drawings going without many winners.
