New York Man Now Millionaire After Winning $3 Million Max Game

A New York county resident is now significantly richer after claiming a prize from the $3 Million MAX game

The ticket, purchased in Fulton County, fetched the game’s top prize, and the winner, one Daniel Nellis of Caroga Lake, will be taking home a lump sum payment of $1,328,043 after all applicable taxes.

Sold at Sterwart’s Shop at 1 East Main Street in Johntown and claimed by Nellis on Thursday, June 24. This is not the only big jackpot to have been recently won from the New York Lottery in recent days

In fact, one Daniel Simmons of Red Hook took home a single payment of $2,180,856 after he bought and won a $5-million lottery ticket for the Mystery Multiplier scratch-off game.

Simmons’ ticket was bought at the Walmart at 460 Fairview Avenue in Hudson. The game also features two other prizes that are yet to be claimed as of June.

Lottery winnings are subject to state and federal taxes, reducing the lump sum payments of winners by more than 50%

Regardless, both Nellis and Simmons have won substantial amounts off their respective tickets, with the New York Lottery set to continue to issue such large prizes.
