The Mega Millions jackpot has gone unclaimed for yet another drawing, allowing it to reach $542 million. With only two Mega Millions jackpots awarded this year, fans are eagerly anticipating a third windfall.
No Jackpot or Match 5 Prizes This Time
The Tuesday drawing went without any winners of seven-figure sums. In addition to no one winning the game’s jackpot, which stood at $511 million at the time, no one succeeded in matching all five white numbers to win a Match 5 prize of between $2 and $10 million, either.
Speaking of numbers, the winning numbers for the June 30 drawing were 26, 41, 50, 53, and 62, plus the gold Mega Ball 12.
A hypothetical winner would have been able to either take the annuity for the full $511 million, or the one-time lump sum of $231 million. In any case, that didn’t happen and no one matched all five numbers to win a Match 5 prize.
However, a few players succeeded in matching four white numbers and the Mega Ball to win various prizes. The winners included five players who won $20,000 each, as well as another five players who won $30,000 each.
The game’s jackpot has now reached $542 million with a cash option of $242 million. The next drawing will take place this Friday, at 11 pm ET.
Only Two Mega Millions Jackpots Have Been Won This Year
The Mega Millions jackpot has been won two times this year, with both wins taking place within a few days of one another. The wins happened in early March, with one player winning $536 million and the other taking home $60 million.
In the meantime, the Powerball jackpot seems to be catching up to the Mega Millions one. The former game’s top prize is currently standing at $375 million, with the next drawing set to take place later today. It has yet to be seen whether the Powerball jackpot will surpass the Mega Millions one before either of the two is won.
