The Powerball jackpot continues to grow after successfully eluding players for yet another drawing. As a result, the top prize continues to slowly creep toward the half-a-billion-dollars milestone.
Four Players Won $100,000 Each
The Monday Powerball drawing saw players aim at a jackpot of $418 million with a cash value of $187.3 million. However, the players’ aim wasn’t quite right as all of them ended up missing this incredible payout.
The winning Powerball numbers drawn on Monday, July 6, were 17, 44, 63, 66, and 67, plus the red Powerball 4. The Power Play multiplier, on the other hand, was 2x.
In addition to no one winning the jackpot, no player in America was lucky enough to match all five white numbers for a Match 5 prize of $1 or $2 million (depending on whether the Power Play feature was active).
Power Play did, however, deliver several six-figure sums as four players matched four white numbers plus the Powerball while having the feature active to win $100,000 each. Eight others matched the same numbers but did not have the Power Play feature active and will therefore take home $50,000 each.
For reference, the previous Powerball drawing awarded seven prizes of $100,000 to its players.
In the meantime, the Powerball jackpot has reached $434 million with a cash value of $194.7 million. The next drawing is set to take place later today, providing players with another shot at the mouth-watering top prize.
Powerball Prepares for Its UK Launch
In the meantime, Powerball prepares to launch in the UK, as confirmed by lottery operator Allwyn earlier this year. UK Powerball tickets will cost GBP 4 per line and will offer an extra prize tier at the lower levels, awarding GBP 8 prizes to anyone who matches 2 white numbers.
Powerball is set to launch in the UK on July 21. It has yet to be seen how the game will fare in Great Britain and how that will affect its usual flow.
