California ER Nurse Still Missing After Visit to Harrah’s Casino

Authorities in Southern California, US, are continuing their search for a 44-year-old emergency room nurse who disappeared after visiting Harrah’s Resort Southern California earlier this month.

Her Belongings Were Found

Angelica Brophy, a mother of two, was last seen at Harrah’s casino located in Valley Center, northeast of San Diego, on the afternoon of July 6, 2026.

According to images captured by the surveillance cameras around the property, the woman left the premises alone at approximately 3:40 pm local time, according to investigators.

The Oceanside resident had spent the first part of the day dropping off her 12-year-old daughter at summer camp, and she was expected to pick her up later that evening. When she did not return home, her family reported her missing, triggering an extensive search effort that is still underway now.

Investigators say Brophy was a frequent visitor to Harrah’s and enjoyed gambling in her spare time. Her cellphone was last detected in the casino parking lot before it was switched off.

Three days later, police located her gray Hyundai parked at Palomar Mountain State Park, about 30 minutes from the casino. Records show the vehicle entered the park at approximately 4:20 pm on July 6, though authorities have not determined what happened after that.

Inside the vehicle, investigators found Brophy’s cellphone, which was powered off, along with her purse and other personal belongings. The car was parked approximately 50 yards from a pond nearby. Divers searched the water, but no trace of Brophy was found.

Drones, K-9 Units, and Ground Searches

Search and rescue teams have conducted extensive operations with K-9 units, drones, and ground crews throughout the park as well as the nearby region. Authorities say no evidence of foul play has been uncovered at this stage of the investigation.

Friends and family told local media that Brophy was familiar with Palomar Mountain State Park and often visited the area to hike, making it a location she knew well.

Investigators are also working with Caesars Entertainment to determine whether Brophy had won any significant payouts during her visit to Harrah’s. She was a member of the Caesars Rewards program, which means that some of her gaming activity may be on record.

So far, officials have not released any findings related to the time she spent at the casino.

Earlier this week, loved ones gathered at a candlelight vigil in San Marcos to pray for Brophy’s safe return. Her husband and children were among those in attendance as the community rallied around the family.

Anyone with information regarding Angelica Brophy’s whereabouts is urged to contact local law enforcement.

At the start of the month, we also reported on another disturbing case of a missing 26-year-old Australian tourist who disappeared around June 21 during a solo trip to Las Vegas. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s investigation into the woman’s disappearance is still underway.
