Two lucky Americans have won seven-figure prizes after matching all five white numbers for the Saturday Powerball drawing. Both of them were only one Powerball number away from the Powerball jackpot.
Players in Arizona and Massachusetts Win Big
The most recent Powerball drawing saw the jackpot elude players once more. While no one succeeded in grabbing the mouth-watering $526 million payout, a few players secured smaller prizes after narrowly missing the top prize.
For reference, the winning numbers for the Powerball drawing that took place on Saturday, July 18, saw players compete for a $526 million prize with a cash option of $233.7 million. The winning numbers drawn on that day were 9, 14, 44, 50, and 56, plus the red Powerball 3. The Power Play multiplier was 4x.
As mentioned, two players matched the five white numbers to win $1 million each. These included a player in Arizona and a player in Massachusetts. Since no one matched all five numbers while having the Power Play feature active, no one won a $2 million prize.
However, Power Play and the 4x multiplier did deliver a few bigger prizes. Five players matched four white numbers and the Powerball with the feature active, which netted each of them $200,000. Seventeen more players matched the same numbers without the Power Play feature and will take home $50,000 each.
In the meantime, the Powerball jackpot has reached $544 million for the next drawing. A hypothetical winner will be able to either pick the annuitized option for the full sum, or the one-time payment for a single $241.6 million payout.
The next Powerball drawing is set to take place later today, July 20.
The Powerball Hype Continues
The Powerball game recently awarded several seven-figure prizes. One of the most recent ones was scored by a player in Louisiana who took home $2 million thanks to matching five white numbers while having the Power Play feature active.
One of the previous Powerball drawings saw another player, this time in Virginia, match all five white numbers to secure a Match 5 prize of $1 million. This came shortly after another win of the same caliber in New Jersey.
The Powerball jackpot has been won five times in 2026 and fans are now eagerly anticipating the sixth jackpot win for the year.
