With less than two months remaining until LiGA Summit 2026, gaming operators, regulators, affiliates, suppliers and technology providers are preparing to gather in Lima, Peru, on September 17-18 to discuss regulatory developments, compliance and emerging opportunities in Latin America’s gaming industry, including the growing role of prediction markets.
The summit, to be held at the El Pardo Lima – A DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel, comes as Peru settles into its new regulatory framework for online gaming. Discussions will focus on how businesses are adapting to a more structured operating environment, with sessions covering affiliate compliance, responsible marketing, anti-money laundering (AML) and know-your-customer (KYC) requirements, and player protection.
The two-day main programme will examine Peru’s new gaming licensing regime and its impact on online and land-based operators, the country’s growing role in the Latin American iGaming market, and the rise of creator-led affiliate marketing through platforms such as TikTok and YouTube. Other sessions will explore responsible marketing, compliance standards, and innovation and omnichannel growth in land-based casinos.
Running alongside the main conference on Sept. 18 will be the inaugural Prediction Markets Summit Americas 2026, a half-day programme dedicated to discussing prediction markets across Latin America. The agenda includes discussions on fraud prevention, cybersecurity, market integrity and consumer protection, as well as evolving regulatory frameworks, Brazil’s approach to prediction markets, product innovation, user engagement and the use of artificial intelligence in event-based products.
Sergio Poves Vidal, LatAm Gaming, Regulatory Affairs & Compliance Advisor at Nexlaw LegalTech & Compliance, said greater regulatory cooperation across Latin America could help create more transparent and sustainable gaming markets.
“At LiGA Summit 2026, I will be sharing insights on how stronger regulatory cooperation across Latin America can help build more aligned, transparent, and sustainable gaming markets,” Poves Vidal said. “The key challenge is not to create identical regulations across the region, but to develop shared standards around licensing, compliance, integrity, and responsible innovation.”
Israel Vasquez, Brand & Content Manager at Azar Latino, said: “Latin America’s iGaming sector is entering a decisive phase, where expanding into new markets and understanding the evolving behaviours of players from both regulated and unregulated environments will be key to anticipating the future of entertainment.
“While operators and suppliers in regulated jurisdictions continue to face complex challenges, this moment demands a stronger alliance between creativity and legal frameworks to elevate and professionalise the industry.
“With AI-driven solutions, deeper collaboration with game providers, and the rise of local talent across the region, the market is already shaping a new era of transformation for iGaming in 2026 and beyond.”
Nicolás Samohod, Founder and Managing Partner of Samohod Law Firm, said balanced regulation remained critical to the long-term success of the sector.
“Intelligent regulation, with a legal framework that provides legal certainty to operators, under a technical and non-confiscatory tax regime, is the best guarantee for an orderly, formal, safe and successful gaming market,” Samohod said.
Confirmed speakers include Celeste Arredondo, Founder of International Gaming Women; Jonathan Felix, CEO of GLOBAL BUSINESS COMPANY DE PERU S.A.C.; Lucas Tapia Luna, CRM Marketing Manager – Sportsbook & Casino at Apuesto.com, Rojabet and Latribet; Milagros Gabriela Seijas Peralta, Head of Legal and Compliance at La Tinka S.A.; and Renzo Escalante, CEO of Clases Play.
The summit will provide a platform for operators, regulators, affiliates, legal experts and technology providers to discuss the implementation of gaming regulations across Latin America while examining the opportunities and challenges surrounding prediction markets, an emerging segment drawing increasing attention across the region’s gaming industry.
