New York Mets signs Novig as official prediction market partner

The New York Mets has signed a multi-year partnership with Novig, making the operator its exclusive official prediction market partner.

Under the agreement, Novig will be integrated across Citi Field through stadium signage, branded in-game activations, and the Mets’ broadcast and social media channels.

“Our mission is to build the home for sports trading,” Jacob Fortinsky, CEO and Co-Founder of Novig, said. “Partnering with one of baseball’s most iconic franchises allows us to bring that vision directly to fans in one of the greatest sports markets in the world.”

The deal makes the Mets the first Major League Baseball club to partner with a prediction market company.

We’re proud to be the first Major League Baseball club to partner with a prediction market company, giving our fans a new and engaging way to connect with the game,” said Lew Sherr, President of Business Operations for the Mets.

“Innovation is a defining characteristic of our business, and this partnership is another example of our commitment to staying at the forefront of the evolving sports landscape. It reflects our broader goal of delivering unique experiences for our fans and continuing to attract industry-leading partners who want to grow alongside the Mets.”

The partnership follows Novig’s designation as an MLB-authorised prediction market, allowing the company to participate in the league’s integrity programme, including market monitoring, reporting protocols, and restrictions on markets deemed to pose integrity risks.

Major League Baseball has expanded its presence in the prediction market sector in recent months, announcing a partnership with Polymarket in March. Other North American sports teams have also entered the space, with the NHL’s Chicago Blackhawks partnering with Kalshi and the New York Rangers signing a deal with Polymarket.

The NBA has yet to announce a team partnership, although Miami Heat star Giannis Antetokounmpo became a shareholder in Kalshi earlier this year.
