The CEO of FIRST.bet Tom Light raises concern about Kambi’s World Cup market coverage comparison study in the recent LinkedIn post . In his statement, Tom Light alleges that the report involves inaccurate representation of FIRST.bet market coverage in comparison to Kambi.
Tom Light wrote:
In the main comparison, 11 of the 13 red Xs against FIRST were simply false. We have many settled customer bets, each with a unique and auditable Bet ID, proving those markets were live. The remaining two were extremely niche markets, both covering only the second 15 minutes of extra time. So even after choosing the markets and the columns themselves, they still got almost every negative mark against us wrong.
Additionally, he refers to another penalty market table in the report and claims that three markets that were mentioned as unavailable on FIRST.bet actually were operational during the World Cup making possible settled bets. This is again a proof of the validity of the position FIRST.bet holds.
According to the CEO of FIRST.bet this issue has a serious meaning because Kambi’s report has been distributed among operators, customers, partners and investors. He underlined the impact market coverage information may have on the perception of sportsbook providers among potential customers.
Furthermore, Tom said that he addressed Kambi CEO Werner Becher before posting the message to the public.
He added:
To his credit, Werner responded quickly and said that if the inaccuracies were confirmed, Kambi would circulate a correction. We sent the evidence, including the relevant Bet IDs. We are still waiting. Mistakes happen. What matters is correcting them, clearly and to the same audience that received the original information.
The post comes as sportsbook suppliers increasingly use market coverage and product comparisons to demonstrate the strength of their offerings.
