LeoVegas Group has expanded its proprietary Tiger sportsbook into the UK, bringing the platform to customers of BetMGM, LeoVegas and BetUK. The deployment adds another major market to a rollout that started in Denmark in July 2025 and later extended to Brazil and Sweden.
The UK introduction forms part of a technology project that LeoVegas has worked on for approximately two years. Tiger uses the sportsbook platform obtained through the group’s acquisition of Tipico US in 2024. That transaction also brought Tipico US management and trading personnel into LeoVegas, giving the company access to an established technology base and specialist teams as it developed greater control over its sports betting operations.
With the latest migration completed, UK customers across the three brands now use LeoVegas Group’s internally controlled sportsbook stack. The company views the launch as an important stage in a broader effort to operate proprietary betting technology across its international business.
Tiger Reaches Its Fourth Market
Denmark served as the first market for LeoVegas’ new sportsbook when the group introduced the platform there in July 2025. Brazil and Sweden subsequently joined the rollout before Tiger reached the UK in August 2026.
LeoVegas has equipped the platform with several sports betting functions intended for customers in its markets. These include enhanced odds boosts and partial cash-out functionality. Tiger also offers Flex Combi, which gives customers additional flexibility when placing combination bets.
The group said direct ownership of the sportsbook technology allows its teams to make product changes more quickly and respond to individual market requirements. LeoVegas also sees control of its technology as part of the foundation for its longer-term sportsbook plans.
Adrian Vella, Chief Product and Technology Officer at LeoVegas Group, described the UK introduction as an important point in the development process.
“This marks one of the most significant moments in our two-year journey to build a world-class, proprietary sportsbook. Every market launch has helped us refine the platform, improve the customer experience and strengthen our competitive edge. Launching in the UK demonstrates our commitment to investing in our own technology – giving us the speed to innovate, greater flexibility and a strong foundation for long-term strategic growth.”
The UK has particular importance for the company because of the level of competition among betting operators. LeoVegas has tailored parts of the Tiger product for customers in the country as it introduces the platform across three of its established UK-facing brands.
James Derbyshire, Sports Director UK & Ireland at LeoVegas Group, said:
“Launching our proprietary sportsbook, Tiger, in the UK is another huge milestone for the group. As one of the most competitive igaming markets in the world, I’m excited to see our customers enjoy the product and engage with some fantastic new sports betting features tailored specifically for the UK market.”
Tipico Deal Accelerated Sportsbook Development
Tiger’s development stems from LeoVegas Group’s acquisition of Tipico US in 2024. Parent company MGM Resorts International said at the time that the transaction would allow LeoVegas to operate a purpose-built proprietary sportsbook across its international markets and brands.
The plans exclude markets covered exclusively by the US BetMGM joint venture between MGM Resorts and Entain.
Alongside the underlying sportsbook technology, LeoVegas acquired Tipico US management and trading teams. The purchase gave the group an alternative to creating all of the required sportsbook infrastructure independently.
An equities analyst discussing the acquisition at the time said it would “drastically shorten the timeline to LeoVegas gaining control over their tech stack, compared to developing these capabilities in-house”.
The analyst also highlighted the potential relevance of the deal as LeoVegas expanded into newly regulated jurisdictions.
“It should improve their ability to have a strong start out of the gates in emerging markets such as Brazil.”
Brazil has since become one of the jurisdictions where Tiger operates, following the original Danish launch and ahead of the subsequent deployments in Sweden and the UK.
Phased Rollout Continues Across LeoVegas Brands
The process of integrating and deploying the platform attracted reports of delays as more than a year passed between Tiger’s first launch in Denmark and its arrival in the UK. LeoVegas maintained that it had planned to introduce the technology progressively rather than migrate every market at the same time.
Discussing the strategy in July 2025, Vella said the company was “executing on a phased roll out [which]
follows a planned sequence that allows us to ensure a seamless transition, rigorous testing, strong confidence in meeting regulatory obligations and continued focus on optimising the player experience”.
The subsequent launches in Brazil, Sweden and the UK have continued that staged approach.
Tiger now supports sports betting operations across four countries, while the UK rollout expands its use across BetMGM, LeoVegas and BetUK simultaneously. The implementation also advances LeoVegas Group’s wider plan to move its international betting brands onto technology that it controls directly.
With the three UK brands now operating on Tiger, the group has extended the platform from its initial Danish deployment into several of its international markets while continuing the sportsbook technology strategy established after the Tipico US acquisition.
