Konami Gaming Inc. has earned ISO/IEC 27001 certification for its information security management system (ISMS), reinforcing its commitment to internationally recognized cybersecurity and data protection standards across both its Synkros casino management system and Konami Online Interactive iGaming platform.
The certification, conducted by Schellman & Co. LLC, covers the company’s security governance, operational controls, and risk management processes supporting its land-based and online gaming technologies.
Certification Validates Information Security Framework
ISO/IEC 27001 is the global benchmark for information security management, requiring organisations to implement a structured framework for identifying, managing, and continuously improving information security risks.
Konami Gaming’s certification is valid for three years, with annual surveillance audits beginning in 2027 to verify ongoing compliance and the effectiveness of its security controls.
The assessment involved a comprehensive independent audit spanning multiple business functions, including information technology, cybersecurity, technical compliance, human resources, systems engineering, marketing, and iGaming operations.
Synkros Meets International Security Standards
The certification covers Synkros, Konami Gaming’s casino management system used by gaming operators worldwide.
Tom Soukup, Senior Vice President and Chief Systems Product Officer at Konami Gaming, said the certification reflects the company’s long-term focus on safeguarding customer data and maintaining secure operational environments.
According to Soukup, the company’s research and development, quality assurance, and customer support teams work together to ensure Synkros continues to meet high standards of data privacy, system integrity, and information security.
iGaming Platform Included
The scope of the certification also extends to Konami Online Interactive, covering the platform’s development, deployment, and day-to-day operations.
Eduardo Aching, Vice President of iGaming and International Gaming Operations, described the achievement as another milestone in Konami’s ongoing investment in cybersecurity and responsible digital gaming infrastructure.
By bringing both its online and land-based technologies under a single information security framework, Konami has established a consistent governance model across its product portfolio.
Reinforcing Trust Through Compliance
Brian Alu, Vice President of Information Technology, said the certification reflects Konami Gaming’s longstanding commitment to compliance and operational excellence.
Rather than introducing new products or features, the certification provides independent validation that the company’s security management practices align with internationally recognised standards.
As cybersecurity continues to play an increasingly important role across the global gaming industry, ISO 27001 certification offers operators additional assurance that Konami’s systems are built upon robust information security processes and subject to ongoing independent oversight.
