Rivers Casino Philadelphia is launching a paid dealer training program that covers the full cost of dealer school and even pays participants during classroom training, which will last four weeks.
Rivers Casino Reveals Its New Dealer Training Program
The casino offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes health care, immediate 401(k) vesting, tuition reimbursement, free parking, flexible scheduling, and opportunities for further career advancement. To apply for the program, one must be at least 18 years old, but otherwise, the casino welcomes veterans, retirees, career changers, college students, and recent graduates.
In addition, applicants must not currently be employed by Rivers Casino Philadelphia or any other venue owned by Rush Street Gaming, the parent company of the casino. Applicants must have applied for the Dealer School Student position and completed the pre-screening interview with Rivers Casino’s Human Resources department.
The casino, which is currently facing a class action lawsuit for alleged data breaches, noted that experienced dealers may qualify for additional bonus opportunities. According to the company, dealers can earn up to $10,000 for proficiency in two core games while averaging at least 30 hours per week, or $5,000 for proficiency in one core game. Furthermore, candidates are also eligible for a $1,000 annual retention bonus, with opportunities to earn even more by expanding their skills through Rivers’ internal training program.
Rivers Casino also emphasized that prior experience is not required, as the casino can train applicants for roles across the business. The company said it values qualities such as passion, energy, enthusiasm, dedication, and motivation. It encouraged interested candidates to join its free, paid table games certification program, which offers $15 per hour during training.
The Program is Part of a Broader Effort from the Casino
The dealer training initiative comes as part of Rivers Casino Philadelphia’s broader August events lineup. The schedule includes performances by Rickey Smiley and a Michael Jackson tribute show. Furthermore, the casino offers six-figure jackpot opportunities on Royal 9 Baccarat and a multi-link progressive shared across Ultimate Texas Hold ’em, Mississippi Stud, and Three Card Poker.
Scott Lokke, general manager of Rivers Casino Philadelphia, said trainees become team members from their first day and, given the program’s high success rate, graduates can move directly into full-time or part-time dealer positions after passing their audition.
