Palms Casino Resort Adds New Non-Smoking Gaming Space

Palms Casino Resort is preparing to expand its gaming offerings with the launch of a new enclosed non-smoking casino area later this month. The Las Vegas property announced that the dedicated gaming space will open to the public on August 24, adding 7,300 square feet to the resort’s casino floor and introducing hundreds of additional slot machines.

Located near the William Hill Sportsbook, the new venue is designed as a separate gaming environment rather than an extension of the resort’s existing non-smoking section. The space will feature its own full-service bar and 224 slot machines, giving guests an alternative gaming option away from the main casino floor.

According to the resort, the slot machine lineup will include games from nearly a dozen gaming manufacturers, offering a variety of recently released and popular titles.

Kevin Glass, General Manager of Palms Casino Resort, said the expansion was developed in response to repeated requests from visitors.

“Guest feedback drives so much of what we do, and expanding our non-smoking gaming options is something we’ve heard consistently,” said Glass in a press release. “This new space combines over 200 of the latest games, a dedicated bar, and a new gaming experience to create an entirely new way to play at Palms. And since Palms was recently recognized as one of the luckiest casinos in the country, we thought we’d make a little more room for the winning to continue.”

Charity Slot Challenge to Mark Official Opening

While guests will gain access to the space on August 24, the resort has scheduled an official grand opening celebration for September 1.

The event will begin at 4 p.m. and feature the inaugural Spin It Forward Celebrity Charity Slot Challenge, presented by IGT. Local personalities will participate on behalf of charitable organizations from across Southern Nevada before a ribbon-cutting ceremony formally marks the opening.

Ten organizations have been selected to participate in the event: Heaven Can Wait Animal Society, the UNLV Chapter of Advancing Indigenous Science & Engineering Society, Proud to Rescue Benevolent Fund, Southern Nevada Joint Management Culinary & Training Fund, S.A.F.E. House, PBS Southern Nevada, The Ability Center, Make-A-Wish Southern Nevada, Springs Preserve Foundation, and Teach For America Nevada.

Each participating organization will receive a guaranteed $2,500 donation from the San Manuel Gaming and Hospitality Authority. In addition, IGT will provide each charity with $1,000 in slot play. Organizations may either accept the guaranteed amount or allow a celebrity representative to compete on their behalf in an effort to increase the final contribution.

New Bar Concept and September Promotions

Alongside the gaming expansion, Palms is introducing a bar concept created specifically for the new venue. The beverage program will feature rotating draft beer selections sourced from local breweries, including offerings not available elsewhere at the resort.

The cocktail menu will include a nitro tequila-inspired variation of the traditional carajillo. Guests will also be able to purchase a rotating Bartender’s Choice selection consisting of three premium bourbon and Scotch flights priced at $10.

Following the official opening celebration, Palms plans to continue promoting the new space throughout September with a series of rewards for Club Serrano members. Scheduled promotions include Hot Seats running from September 1 through September 3, along with Thursday evening prize drawings on September 10 and September 17. Participants will have opportunities to win free slot play and additional prizes.
