Matt “Vegas Matt” Morrow, one of the most popular slots vloggers in the world, was banned from Venetian in Las Vegas following a massive winning session.
The FanDuel Casino ambassador was reportedly accused by the casino of using advantage play to win approximately $400,000 in one session on a Phoenix Link slot machine, according to Scott Roeben of the Vital Vegas blog. Vegas Matt, however, denied having any sort of edge against the house.
“Security escorted me off property a few days after we won $400k. We played a Phoenix link but left the counter higher than we started it which is hardly advantage play. Maybe they just didn’t like me winning,” Vegas Matt wrote.
Two Recent Massive Wins for Vegas Matt
Getting banned from the property didn’t seem to faze the longtime high-stakes gambler. He wrote that he prefers “giving my business to properties that are happy when I win,” and referred to a recent $286,000 win at nearby Fountainebleau.
Vegas Matt, who has over 1.6 million YouTube followers, released the video on Tuesday of his six-figure win at Fountainebleau. He hit a $200,000 Grand jackpot on the Phoenix Link slot, one of the most common machines he plays.
The video of the win at Venetian hasn’t yet been posted to the Vegas Matt YouTube channel. Many of his social media followers lashed out at the Las Vegas casino for the ban. One X user even said he cancelled his hotel stay at Venetian in retaliation.
“Unbelievable. Venetians loss. So many other great places to give your business to,” @General responded.
It is not illegal to use advantage play on slots or table games. But casinos in Las Vegas have the right to refuse service to a customer. Still, it’s an odd play from a publicity standpoint to ban someone with such a massive social media following.
Vegas Matt is not an avid poker player, but he did appear in a Celebrity Poker Tour event earlier this year and has had poker pro Allen Kessler on his YouTube channel.
