Ralfs Blumbergs Wins the $10,250 PLO Event at EPT Barcelona

The 2026 PokerStars European Poker Tour (EPT) Barcelona festival is hurtling toward a thrilling conclusion, with the crowning of the €5,300 Main Event only a couple of days away. While the Main Event was whittling its field, Latvia’s Ralfs Blumbergs was busy accumulating all the chips in the €10,250 PLO Unlimited Re-Entry event.

Including re-entries, 122 players competed at the Casino Barcelona, each hoping to help themselves to the largest slice of the €1,183,400 prize pool. That honor went to Blumbergs, who now has a €303,300 score on his list of poker accomplishments.

Seventeen players cashed in this high-stakes Pot-Limit Omaha tournament, including Laszlo Bujtas and Niklas Astedt. Sweden’s Filip Lovric busted in eighth, leaving the seven remaining players to form the official final table.

Frenchman Imad Derwiche was the first of the finalists to lose their chips. The €48,500 Derwiche collected nudged his lifetime winnings close to $5.2 million.

Rasmus Larsen, Biao Ding, and Tommi Lankinen fell by the wayside before the elimination of Vito Recchimurzo sent the contest into the heads-up stage. Here, Blumbergs faced Finnish PLO specialist Markus Ristola. Blumbergs got the job done and his hands on €303,300, leaving Ristola to scoop the €189,400 consolation prize.

The latest €25,000 No-Limit Hold’em single-day event drew in only eight players, including one re-entry, meaning there was €192,080 to play for. One would imagine that, usually, when the field is so compact, the payout structure would be winner-takes-all, or perhaps it would pay the top two. However, three places were paid, but the prizes were severely skewed.

Kayhan Mokri finished in third place for €27,972, with Klemens Roiter taking home €30,012 for his second-place finish. Man of the moment, Jamie Dwan, raked in a €134,096 top prize and a Spadie trophy as his incredible run of form continued.

Poland’s Puczylowski Adds a Spadie to his WSOPC Ring

At the start of the year, Poland’s Marcin Puczylowski took down the WSOP Circuit Marrakech High Roller for the equivalent of $147,596 and a WSOPC ring. This week, the Pole triumphed in the €1,100 No-Limit Hold’em event at EPT Barcelona for a Spadie trophy and €76,960, his third-largest live poker prize.

Some 402 players paid the €1,100 buy-in and had the chance to win a share of the €385,920 prize pool. Plenty of established players made the top 55 and finished in the money.

They included Leo Worthington-Leese, Keith Johnson, Eugene Katchalov, and Valentino Konakchiev.

The final table had its own seasoned pros, including Marc MacDonnell, Priyan De Mel, and David Docherty, who crashed out in sixth through fourth place.

Puczylowski defeated Darius Narmontas heads-up for the title after Andre Sargento Esteves busted in third.

Leknes Warms Up for WCOOP With EPT Barcelona Mixed Game Triumph

Tobias Leknes, the man behind the famous PokerStars alias “Senkel92,” is one of the most fear and accomplished mixed game players of all time. Leknes has 13 World Championship Of Online Poker (WCOOP) and seven Spring Championship Of Online Poker (SCOOP) titles to his name, in addition to almost two dozen live mixed game wins.
