Ontario’s Gateway Casinos Sudbury has become the first gaming facility in the Greater Sudbury market to offer live dealer table games. Gateway Casinos & Entertainment Limited introduced six gaming tables to the property this month, creating approximately 24 new jobs in the process.
The property now operates three Blackjack tables, along with one table each for Ultimate Texas Hold’em, Mississippi Stud and Four Card Poker. The live games join the casino’s existing slot machines and dining offerings, giving guests four dealer-run options where none previously existed in the local market.
“The launch of live gaming tables brings a thrilling energy to the casino floor. As a new dealer, I’m excited to welcome guests and connect with our players face to face,” said Marie-Anne, a table games dealer at the property.

The live tables run from 4 p.m. to midnight Monday through Thursday, noon to 2 a.m. Friday and Saturday, and noon to midnight on Sunday.
Gateway Casinos Sudbury sits at the site of the former Sudbury Downs racetrack in Azilda, where the property offers more than 400 slot machines and employs an estimated 190 to 200 people.
Gateway has plans to relocate the property to a new site on The Kingsway but has not released an opening date for that move.
Gateway Casinos & Entertainment Limited operates 31 gaming properties in British Columbia, Ontario and Alberta and employs approximately 7,000 people.
Across the portfolio, the company offers approximately 380 table games, including poker tables, along with 14,204 slot machines, 76 food and beverage outlets and 564 hotel rooms.
