SBC Summit unveils Compliance Tech track for its 2026 agenda

SBC Summit 2026 will feature a dedicated Compliance Tech conference track examining how technology can help gambling operators detect threats, combat fraud and strengthen regulatory compliance.

The track will take place on October 1 at the Feira Internacional de Lisboa as part of the Regulation & Compliance stage, alongside sessions focused on Global Regulations and Player Protection.

The track will bring together operators, technology specialists, compliance and legal experts, as well as fraud, risk and cybersecurity professionals to examine developments in fraud prevention, illegal activity, digital identity and the intersection of regulation and cybersecurity.

“The same technological advances that are helping operators protect their businesses are also changing the nature of the threats they face,” SBC Founder and CEO Rasmus Sojmark said.

As criminals become more sophisticated and operators navigate increasingly complex regulatory requirements, simply having more technology isn’t enough. The challenge is knowing where it can make a real difference, and this track will examine where the industry should be focusing its attention.”

The programme will open with a session titled “More Players, Less Risk: Maximising Approvals in a Regulated World”, which will focus on reducing block rates and false positives while increasing approval rates for legitimate customers.

Tom Orton, Director of Content and Payments at Rank Group; Tim De Borle, COO at Casumo; and Liesbeth Oost, Head of ESG at JVH Gaming and Entertainment, will join moderator Ana Pamplona, Doctor of Law, lawyer, university professor and co-founder of AMIG.

The agenda will then turn to compliance challenges associated with entering new markets during “Bring on the New Markets: What Are the Compliance Challenges?” Speakers will examine local criminal threats, fraud prevention technology, and managing compliance across multiple jurisdictions.

The session will feature Miguel Luis, Head of Compliance at LeBull; Sissel Weitzhandler, Co-Founder of EGARA; Ian Perrygrove, Chief Risk Officer at Kwiff; and Raymond Wilson, MLRO & Senior AFC Manager at Midnite, with Thees Buschman, Senior Consultant at Chevron Group, as moderator.

The future of digital identity will be examined in “EUDI Wallets & Digital Identity: A New Era for KYC or Just New Complexity?” Andrea Carvalho, Head of Legal, Compliance and AML Affairs at Entain; Yainnis Stavroulas, Chief Technology Officer at Novibet; and blockchain architect Jean Michel Azzorpadi will assess whether EUDI Wallets can simplify KYC and onboarding, with Jochen Biewer, Managing Director at Chevron Group, moderating.

The programme will also examine how regulators and cybersecurity teams can work together to strengthen industry-wide cyber defence in “At the Intersection of Cybersecurity, Regulation and Collaborative Defence”.

Another session, “Closing the Loopholes: How to Combat Bonus Abuse”, will explore how operators can identify and address evolving forms of bonus exploitation.

SBC Summit will also offer compliance-focused networking opportunities, including a Compliance Show Floor Tour highlighting technology providers and Regulatory Gaming Meetups featuring 21 market-focused gatherings with regulators, legal experts and industry leaders.

Conference access is included with Conference, Business and VIP Passes, while delegates attending the conference sessions and compliance-focused networking initiatives will require a Business or VIP Pass.

The summit will run from Sept. 29 to Oct. 1 and is expected to bring 40,000 industry professionals to the Feira Internacional de Lisboa and MEO Arena for three days of networking, exhibitions and education.
