Playtech Adds AI Host as Responsible Gaming Gains Focus | NewsBetting

Playtech-introduces-Virtual-HostPlaytech is bringing an artificial-intelligence presenter into its live casino products as the company also highlights its support for responsible gaming education in the United States.

The new Virtual Host will provide commentary while games take place, guiding players through each round from within the live studio environment. Playtech said the feature is designed to add to the presentation of live casino while preserving the existing gaming experience.

The host can also be adjusted for individual markets. Operators can select its appearance, language and presentation style, with English, Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese currently supported. Playtech said further localisation is planned.

Virtual Presenter Expands Playtech Live Offering

The Virtual Host sits within Playtech Live and uses AI to deliver commentary in real time. Rather than operating separately from the studio environment, the digital presenter integrates into the live setup and accompanies players as rounds progress.

Playtech said the technology creates additional possibilities for live entertainment and gives operators another format for presenting their casino content. The company has framed the feature as a complement to its existing live casino experience.

Market customisation forms a central part of the product. The ability to change the host’s appearance and presentation, alongside language selection, allows the same feature to be adapted for different audiences. At launch, users can select from three supported languages, with more localisation expected in the near future.

The announcement comes as Playtech also draws attention to Responsible Gaming Education Month (RGEM), which takes place in September in the US.

Responsible Gaming Takes Focus in September

This year marks the 28th annual Responsible Gaming Education Month, an initiative supported by the American Gaming Association. Playtech said it is supporting the campaign and its emphasis on responsible gaming education.

The company highlighted work around gaming literacy and consumer education, as well as training and cooperation with industry partners to improve understanding of responsible gambling. Playtech also directed attention to responsible gaming tools and resources available through the AGA.

The campaign comes amid significant participation in gambling across the US. American Gaming Association Vice President of Research David Forman said almost 60% of Americans gambled in some form last year.

Forman also said the gaming industry has committed about half a billion dollars to responsible gaming programmes. He added that awareness of available safeguards has grown.

Those figures give additional context to Playtech’s decision to highlight responsible gaming education alongside its latest product announcement. The company’s Virtual Host focuses on AI-driven presentation within live casino, while its RGEM message addresses consumer awareness and access to responsible gaming information.

Playtech’s announcement therefore covers two areas of its current activity: a new AI-based feature for live casino and participation in an industry campaign focused on responsible gambling education. The Virtual Host currently supports three languages and can be customised for different markets, while the company’s RGEM support points consumers toward existing responsible gaming resources.
