“Rampage” went on a rampage against a Hustler Casino Live opponent who was playing too slow and nitty for his liking.
Ethan Yau didn’t take too kindly to the play of a player who went by the name “Harut,” who wasn’t playing fast or giving enough action to satisfy him. As such, the popular poker vlogger lashed out at his opponent following a tight fold.
Was Rampage Out of Line?
The verbal spat began after a hand that started with Francisco Fragoso limping for $100 with pocket fives. Harut then just limped in the hijack with A♥K♥, before Rampage made it $2,000 from the small blind with Q♠Q♣.
Nik Airball, the big blind, called with Q♥J♣, as did Francisco. Action shifted over to Harut, who was seemingly setting the trap by limping with Big Slick. But there would be no raise. He instead called to see a flop of 3♥2♣J♥, giving him the nut flush draw with two over cards.
Rampage checked his over pair out of position. Airball, who flopped top pair, bet $4,000. Francisco folded, before Harut, who had $92,000 behind, called. Rampage, sitting on over $200,000, went for a check-raise to $18,000, forcing Airball to fold.
Harut seemed to be in a call or raise spot with so much equity. He couldn’t possibly be drawing dead against any hand Rampage held, and he was getting better than 2-1 on his money.
“Does he want to call, or does he want to pile it in?” David Tuchman, who was calling the action, pondered.
“Clock, he’s taking so long. We have 30 minutes left. It’s just the flop,” a frustrated Rampage said only about a minute after Harut went into the tank.
“Are you joking or are you serious?” Harut asked, confused as to why Rampage was attacking him.
“No, I really want clock. You’re taking so long,” Rampage answered back.
Harut, surprisingly, ended up folding his hand, a move that shocked Tuchman and the viewers. Rampage then continued to berate his new rival, telling him “I want you to hurry up.” But Hustler’s graphics showed Harut’s average tank time was just nine seconds, average at the table.
It’s unclear why Rampage singled out Harut after that hand. He didn’t tank that long while facing a check-raise three-bet, and the stats showed he hadn’t been holding up the game. But Rampage continued with his tirade on X.
Harut’s stats for the stream weren’t exactly GTO Wizard approved, but he didn’t just sit around folding all night. He posted a 46% VPIP, which is far from tight, although his preflop raise was at a low 12%. But after all was said and done, Harut was the biggest winner in the game, up $72,600. The biggest loser? Rampage, who lost $103,250.
That said, Rampage has been on a tear the past few months in livestream cash games. He also won a World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet this summer. So, it hasn’t all been bad for one of poker’s top vloggers.
