Lucas Jumalon Chip Leads Deep in Quest for Another Main Event Title

The reigning poker World Champion could be just hours away from another title.

Lucas Jumalon, winner of the 2026 WSOP Main Event for $10 million, has the chip lead entering the final day in the $1,700 WSOP Circuit Main Event at TCH Social in Austin, Texas. He’s chasing his first WSOP Circuit ring and the $433,670 first-place prize.

There are 18 players remaining out of the original 2,090 entries. Play is set to resume at 2 p.m. CT on Monday. Jumalon, the second-youngest World Champion ever at age 22, bagged 11.2 million chips on Sunday, good for 186 big blinds. That’s a sizable lead over his nearest competitor, Ryan Brown, who will start the final day with 8.2 million. Brant Jolly is third with 7 million chips.

Can Main Event Champ Win Another Main Event?

It could be a lengthy day, as there aren’t any super shorties in the field. John Holley has the smallest stack with 1.3 million chips, but that’s worth 21 big blinds, plenty of chips to make a run.

But Jumalon proved this summer he knows how dominate with the chip lead. He entered the WSOP Main Event final table in August with the chip lead, and he never lost that lead. The champ finished out his World Championship run by defeating Lauri Saaskilahti heads-up, thanks in large part to the runner-up making what many poker fans described as the worst call in poker history.

Hypberbole aside, Jumalon outplayed Saaskilahti, and the rest of the final table. And now he has a shot to prove he has what it takes to continue winning at a high level. All remaining players are guaranteed at least $15,530, and those who reach the final table will receive a minimum $40,100 payout.

For Jumalon, winning this tournament, which would be his second WSOP-branded Main Event win in less than two months, it will show the poker world his big win this summer was the start of big things to come.

Texas Card House will livestream the final day’s action on YouTube. Jumalon recently competed in his first cash game livestream at nearby The Lodge Card Club, where he got stacked the second hand, but rallied and only lost a small amount.
