Stockman’s Casino has completed a year-long renovation that brought upgrades across its gaming floor, food service areas, and back-of-house operations at the Fallon, Nevada property.
The casino marked the completion of the project with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on September 18, following an overhaul of much of its roughly 8,600-square-foot gaming floor.
New Kitchen, Fresh A/C, Upgraded Gaming
General manager Lou Capone told the Nevada Appeal that the work included new carpeting throughout the casino, an upgraded HVAC system and a redesigned kitchen.
More than half of the slot machines were also replaced, bringing the total to 235, compared with 189 before the renovation.
The gaming floor continues to feature four table games alongside the expanded slot offering.
Stockman’s has also added sports betting through a partnership with Boomer’s Sportsbook. The Nevada-focused operator installed a wagering kiosk at the casino about five months ago.
Customers must complete an in-person identity verification process at Stockman’s before using the Boomer’s app to place bets statewide.
William Hill previously operated the sportsbook at the Fallon casino.
Another major part of the project was the café, which was demolished and rebuilt with what Capone described as “a more classic style.”
“We’re excited to have inherited a great team and a building with great bones, but it was a bit tired,” Capone told the Appeal. “So we reinvested in it to bring it back to close to where (Jim) Peters had it when he sold it many years ago.”
A Long History in Fallon
Although the current Stockman’s building dates to 1969, the casino’s name goes back more than seven decades.
Stockman’s has operated in Fallon since 1955 and originally served the area’s agricultural community and cattle ranchers. The name refers to stockmen, or livestock workers responsible for breeding, raising, herding, and managing animals.
The present building was constructed in 1969 by Ken and Glenda Bendickson and Herb Peters. The Bendicksons remained partners for several years before Peters eventually became the sole owner.
Herb Peters retired in 1989 and sold the property to his son, Jim, and daughter-in-law, Kathryn. The Peters family continued to operate Stockman’s until Full House Resorts acquired the casino in January 2007. Full House ran the property until April 2025.
The current group that owns the venue, Clarity Game Nevada LLC, is led by Nevada natives David Ross and Michael Gaughan III, who purchased the real estate from Full House in September 2024 for $9.2 million.
The duo officially took over casino operations on April 1, 2025.
Sports-betting executive Joe Asher is among the minority partners. The longtime industry vet is also a Gambling Hall of Fame inductee and presided over Sports Betting for IGT for almost three years until June 2024.
