Tiffany Keathley, an American poker player and RunGood Poker Series (RGPS) champion from Arkansas, has passed away at age 40.
Fellow southern grinder Daniel Lowery shared news of Keathley’s passing on social media on Sunday, writing that his “heart breaks today upon hearing the news of a good friend” and adding that he’s “lost too many senselessly that were too young.”
“PLEASE be kind to people,” the 21-time WSOP Circuit ring winner wrote on Facebook. “You never know what they’re carrying. PLEASE don’t ignore when people tell you that they’re struggling. I looked back at my phone as soon as I heard the news today and realized it had been 6 weeks since I talked to her.”
No details are public yet about the circumstances of Keathley’s death, and an obituary was not publicly available as of Tuesday evening.
Several poker players paid their respects to Keathley on social media, including Circuit ring winner Scott Smile and Chris Read, who called Keathley “a sweet soul that I’ve spent many days talking with.”
A Respected Southern Grinder
Keathley was a regular on the southern poker circuit and had cashes in Durant, Houston, Pocola and Tulsa.
The Arkansas native had $115,328 in Hendon Mob earnings since her first cash in July 2019, which came from a third-place finish in a WSOP Circuit Choctaw event for $10,058.
Keathley won a different kind of ring just a few months later as she took down the RGPS Tunica $575 Main Event for $48,796. En route to the victory, Keathley eliminated her friend Lowery in 15th place.
The event had 632 players, making it, at the time, the largest-event RGPS Main Event field.
Four years later, Keathley made a run at a second RGPS ring in Tunica as she finished seventh in the 2023 Main Event for $10,827. She shared the final table with 2003 WSOP Main Event champion Chris Moneymaker.
Keathley’s last recorded cash was a 43rd-place finish in the WSOP Circuit Tunica Main Event in April 2024 for $3,281.
