AGEM, AGA Golf Classic raises $185,000 for gambling research

The International Center for Responsible Gaming (ICRG) received $185,000 from proceeds of the 27th annual AGEM & AGA Golf Classic presented by JCM Global, taking the tournament’s cumulative contributions to the organization to $3.2 million since the event began in 1999.

The contribution was formally presented this week at the Global Gaming Expo (G2E) by the Association of Gaming Equipment Manufacturers (AGEM), the American Gaming Association and JCM Global.

The latest amount was raised at the golf tournament held May 6 at SouthShore Country Club in Henderson, Nevada. It was $5,000 higher than the $180,000 raised at last year’s tournament.

The ICRG finances independent, peer-reviewed research into gambling disorder and responsible gambling practices. Ahead of G2E, the organization held its 27th annual Conference on Gambling and Addiction at the Venetian Expo on September 27 and 28.

Those present for the check presentation included AGEM President and CEO Daron Dorsey, AGA Senior Vice President of Membership and Events Maureen Beddis, ICRG President Michael Soll, ICRG Director of Corporate Partnerships Joshua Belkin, ICRG Director of Research and Education Travis Sztainert, ICRG board member Art Paikowsky and JCM Senior Vice President Dave Kubajak.
