Washington’s Tulalip Resort Casino completes 70,250 square-foot expansion

Tulalip Resort Casino has completed a three-year, 70,250-square-foot expansion and property-wide renovation, adding new gaming areas and amenities, refreshed bars, a renovated high-limit slots room, and upgrades to its dining venues.

The project, first announced in November 2023, included the construction of a north addition that began in January 2024. The expanded floorplan opened in July 2025, while renovations to the rest of the property began at the same time.

The north addition expanded the casino’s gaming floor to 270,250 square feet and added 400 slot machines, bringing the total number of slots to more than 2,600.

The addition includes the new North Bar, which offers cocktails, wine and craft beer, as well as a covered outdoor patio and smoking area. Metallic tribal storytelling spindle whorls flank the north and east entrances, which feature large arched timber beams. The grand north entrance faces the Tulalip Amphitheatre and Seattle Premium Outlets fronted by a landscaped courtyard.

The renovation also introduced a new 38-foot-tall, seven-ton Center Bar at the heart of the gaming floor. Designed around the casino’s new themes, the structure features symbolic sea life representing a Salish Sea bay.

Meanwhile, the 3,366-square-foot Center Bar and lounge offers bar-top gaming and seating for up to 60 guests. Other upgrades included renovations to the 4,000-square-foot high-limit slots room and design enhancements at several casino restaurants.

The property-wide design draws on the culture and traditions of the Tulalip Tribes, incorporating natural materials and colours inspired by the Salish Sea, coastal shorelines and surrounding forests. Blue and grey hues reference nearby waters and beaches, while cream tones with copper and gold accents evoke Pacific Northwest sunsets.

A new ceiling treatment incorporates wayfinding elements depicting schools of fish travelling parallel to fishing nets, alongside symbols representing water currents, ripples, piers, nets, forage fish, and jellyfish.

“We are proud of the hard work and energy everyone has put into this project and to keeping Tulalip Resort Casino as the Northwest’s most distinctive gaming, dining, meeting, entertainment, and shopping destination,” said Marci Fryberg, President/COO of Tulalip Gaming Organization.

“We have been deeply gratified by our guests’ positive response throughout the three-year journey,” he added. “They have shared our excitement as each phase was revealed, knowing our goal is focused on delivering an unparalleled guest experience now, and far into the future.”

Swinerton Construction served as the building contractor, working with the internal Project Team and Division Leaders, while Rice Fergus Miller was the architectural firm for the project.
