Following his appointment in August, Dr. Jaime Vives Pinedo has taken office as president of Coljuegos, Colombia’s state-owned industrial and commercial enterprise responsible for administering the country’s revenue monopoly on games of chance and gambling.
The official holds a degree in Business Administration from Santo Tomas University, as well as a specialization in Senior Management from the University of Magdalena. He has more than 30 years of experience in management positions at production and commercial companies, giving him extensive experience in leading organizations.
“It is an honor to assume this role leading an entity that contributes millions in resources to the health of Colombians every year; my mission is to fight forcefully against the scourge of illegality in this industry and increase revenues for subsidized healthcare in our country,” Vives Pinedo said.
The executive also said that he is taking on the challenge of strengthening the fight against illegal gambling and protecting the collection of exploitation rights. In his new position, he will be responsible for overseeing the different forms of gambling in the country, both land-based and online, and increasing the revenue allocated to the healthcare sector.
