SBC has extended its agreement with Lisbon to host SBC Summit through 2030.
The deal with Turismo de Portugal, the Municipality of Lisbon, and Lisboa FCE covers the 2028, 2029, and 2030 editions, extending SBC’s commitment beyond the previously confirmed 2027 event. Lisboa FCE is a non-profit association that manages major exhibition and congress venues in Lisbon.
The agreement is intended to support the Summit’s international expansion and establish Lisbon as its host city through 2030. SBC will continue to use Feira Internacional de Lisboa (FIL) and MEO Arena for its exhibition, conference, networking, and entertainment programmes.
Rasmus Sojmark, CEO & Founder of SBC, said: “We’re happy to formalise the way we feel by committing to this city till 2030. Onwards and upwards. The agreement gives SBC and our attendees and partners the stability to plan and invest for the future.
“Knowing exactly where we’ll be and for how long means we can keep pouring everything into making the Summit bigger, better and more valuable for everyone who comes through the doors.”
The agreement was signed on the final day of SBC Summit, attended by senior representatives from the City of Lisbon, FIL, and Turismo de Portugal.
Attendees included City of Lisbon Vice President Gonçalo Reis; Deputy Mayor for Innovation Social Development Maria Luísa Aldim; FIL President of the Executive Board António Ramalho; FIL Executive Board member Carlos Oliveira; and Turismo de Portugal board member Teresa Monteiro.
“We are very happy to have the support of the city we have chosen to host our biggest and most ambitious event,” Sojmark added. “Year on year, Lisbon is proving to be the perfect fit, and we’re grateful for all the support we’ve received from the city so far.”
Ramalho said FIL will work with SBC to support its ambitions and create the conditions for the Summit to grow in Lisbon.
“Events of this scale and international reach are key to positioning Lisbon, Parque das Nações and FIL at the forefront of the global events industry, reinforcing our city’s ability to attract and successfully host some of the world’s leading events,” he said.
SBC Summit’s impact on Lisbon has grown since the event arrived in the city in 2024. For the 2026 edition, attendees came from 178 countries and generated an estimated 85,000 room nights across the Portuguese capital, with final attendance figures still being confirmed.
The 2026 Summit featured a Leadership in Sports Business keynote with basketball icon, investor and philanthropist Michael Jordan, Sportradar founder and CEO Carsten Koerl, and DraftKings co-founder, CEO and chairman Jason Robins. Broadcaster Kirsty Gallacher moderated the discussion.
The event’s third year in Lisbon also introduced the standalone Affiliate Leaders Summit for the affiliate and performance marketing community, the Global Prediction Markets Forum, and the African Gaming Forum.
Other highlights included a new structured networking programme and keynotes from football transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano, known worldwide for breaking major signings, and UFC champion Charles Oliveira.
The event concluded with INFINITY Lisbon, headlined by Tiësto.
SBC Summit will return to Feira Internacional de Lisboa and MEO Arena from 21 to 23 September 2027.
