BETBY highlights new SlotBets product at SBC Summit press conference

Sportsbook supplier BETBY has showcased its newly launched SlotBets product at SBC Summit, outlining how the format could connect sportsbook and casino audiences while opening up additional revenue opportunities for operators.

The B2B sportsbook provider presented SlotBets during a press conference on the final day of SBC Summit on 6 October. The session combined a live demonstration with a discussion on the product’s mechanics, commercial applications and future development.

Chris Nikolopoulos, Chief Commercial Officer at BETBY, led the presentation, joined by Christian Karlsson, Chief Revenue Officer at Cubeia, as a guest speaker. Adar Ziv, founder of Fam, moderated the session.

Media questions focused on how SlotBets combines elements of sportsbook and casino, the operation of its 15-second rounds, its potential appeal to younger audiences, and the possibility of extending the format to other sports.

Nikolopoulos demonstrated SlotBasketball, showing how its 15-second rounds are determined by events occurring during a live basketball match rather than an RNG. The product has an RTP of approximately 93% to 94%.

According to Nikolopoulos, the product reflects changing preferences for faster and more visual forms of entertainment while retaining the real-world outcomes associated with sports betting.

“The fundamental desire of the player to bet has not really changed, but the way people consume entertainment has. They want things to be fast, visual, and to the point,” he said. “SlotBets brings the UI and UX that casino players already understand into sports betting, while keeping the outcome driven by real sporting action, which is where the emotional connection of sportsbook comes from.”

Karlsson said SlotBets could provide a link between sportsbook and casino customers, while also giving operators another differentiated product to offer. He said operators are looking for products that can be deployed without lengthy or complex integrations.

“Normally, you either have sportsbook players or casino players, so having something that creates a bridge between the two is very interesting,” said Karlsson. “A lot of our clients are asking for innovation and for products that are genuinely different from what is already on the market.”

“Just as importantly, operators want to know how quickly they can get it live, and today this can be much more about configuration than a major new integration, which makes adoption significantly easier,” he continued.

BETBY also highlighted potential applications for SlotBets beyond cross-selling between sportsbook and casino.

Nikolopoulos pointed to live match trackers, which typically provide users with match information and statistics, as an area where interactive gameplay could be added.
The product is built as a widget, allowing operators to integrate it into sportsbook and casino platforms as well as homepages, retail environments and affiliate sites.

“There are areas of the sportsbook today, such as the live match tracker, that take up valuable space but are mainly there to provide information,” he said. “We believe SlotBets can bring interaction into that same space by combining the event, the statistics and the ability to play around the real action.”

BETBY said SlotBets is already available with selected partners, with early performance showing encouraging results and additional integrations in progress. The company is also working on the next phase of SlotBets Games, with at least two or three additional games expected in the coming months.

The games will not simply replicate the same mechanic across different sports. Instead, BETBY plans to tailor each format to the pace and characteristics of the relevant sport.

The press conference concluded with a Q&A covering player behaviour, product positioning, deployment, sports coverage, potential future formats, and the broader commercial opportunity for operators.
