Mega Millions Player in New Jersey Wins $2M, Florida Player Grabs $3M

The latest Mega Millions drawing has been incredibly exciting, with two players in America winning seven-figure Match 5 prizes. At the same time, however, the game’s jackpot survived another drawing and has therefore continued to grow.

Incredible Windfalls Turned Two Players into Millionaires

The Tuesday Mega Millions drawing crowned not one, but two Match 5 winners, as a player in New Jersey and a player in Florida matched all five white numbers, but not the gold Mega Ball. The former player won $2 million on a 2x multiplier, while the latter secured a $3 million payout on a 3x multiplier.

In addition to that, three players matched four white numbers plus the Mega Ball to win five-figure sums. Two of these players took home $20,000 each (2x multiplier), while the remaining one scooped up a $30,000 prize (3x multiplier).

For reference, the winning numbers were 26, 32, 42, 51, and 54, plus the gold Mega Ball 22. At the time of the drawing, the Mega Millions jackpot stood at $345 million and had a cash option of $139.6 million.

Since no one managed to win the top prize, it has continued to grow, reaching $364 million for the next drawing. If the annuity option is not to a hypothetical winner’s liking, a one-time lump sum option of $147.3 million is also available.

Players will get another shot at the jackpot this Friday, October 9.

Several Others Won Match 5 Prizes from the Previous Drawings

The Mega Millions game has been steadily picking up speed as the jackpot grows. The previous drawing (October 2) did not award a jackpot prize, but granted a $4 million Match 5 payout to a lucky player in Wisconsin.

Before that, a Mega Millions player in Colorado, who was competing for September 22’s $261 million jackpot, narrowly missed it, winning $2 million instead.

In the meantime, the Powerball jackpot is also growing and is currently nearing the $500 million mark. That game’s latest drawing saw a lucky player in Louisiana win a $2 million Match 5 prize. The next Powerball drawing is set to take place later today, allowing players to test their luck with $485 million on the line.
