Licensed Casinos Capture 95.6% of Search Interest in Spain

Licensed-casinos-attract-95.6_-of-online-gambling-interest-in-SpainSpain’s regulated online gambling market attracts most consumer search interest despite having far fewer brands than the offshore sector. October 2026 data from Blask identifies 534 gambling brands in the country, including 87 licensed operators and 447 offshore brands. Licensed platforms account for 95.6% of online search interest, leaving offshore operators with 4.4%.

The research examines 15,871 casino games, comparing search demand with the products operators list and promote. Its findings cover game categories, live casino visibility and supplier representation across both segments.

Blackjack Leads Searches Despite Limited Catalogue Share

Blackjack generates 38.3% of game-related search interest in Spain. This figure covers searches for the general game rather than individual titles from specific providers. Yet blackjack represents less than 1% of games listed by licensed operators.

The difference reflects how search demand and catalogue counts measure different things. Blackjack can attract substantial interest without requiring casinos to list hundreds of variations. Slot games occupy the largest portion of both licensed and offshore catalogues, with thousands of individual titles available.

However, searches for specific slots remain less prominent than those for blackjack as a broader category. The data reveals a gap between the volume of games operators offer and the subjects generating the greatest search interest.

Live Casino Gains Ground On Licensed Platforms

By October 2026, live casino games accounted for a catalogue share 2.7 times greater than in January, reflecting their increased representation on licensed platforms.

Their positioning also differs by regulatory segment. Live casino games appear among the ten most prominently displayed games at 46% of licensed operators, compared with 21% of offshore operators.

Homepage placement influences which products visitors notice while browsing. The report also finds limited overlap between games most frequently promoted by licensed and offshore platforms, with just three titles appearing on both groups’ top-ten lists.

Game Suppliers Face Different Market Conditions

Pragmatic Play leads supplier rankings in both segments, accounting for 15.3% of licensed casino catalogue content and 11.2% of offshore content.

Only four suppliers appear in both markets’ top tens: Pragmatic Play, Evolution, Play’n GO and Hacksaw Gaming. Licensed and offshore operators therefore rely on substantially different supplier mixes despite targeting players in the same country.

For providers, the findings indicate that an operator’s licensing status and catalogue decisions can affect distribution opportunities. Representation across the wider market does not guarantee the same presence among licensed and offshore casinos.

Search Interest Does Not Measure Gambling Activity

The findings show licensed operators attracting most online attention, alongside differences in catalogue composition and promotional placement. Live casino has gained a larger share of licensed offerings, while supplier rankings vary between the two segments.

However, search activity measures interest rather than actual gambling participation or spending. Catalogue size and homepage placement also cannot establish how frequently players use individual games.

The figures offer a snapshot of Spain’s licensed and offshore casino markets, but do not establish how differences in visibility and product selection translate into gambling behaviour.
