Brazilian sports betting and casino site Aposta Ganha has announced a partnership agreement with Netflix, becoming the first betting brand to exclusively run advertising campaigns in the country for the platform’s customers.

Rafa Márquez, former player and idol of Barcelona and the Mexican national football team, stars in the 30-second commercial. The concept was developed by the company’s marketing team alongside a Spanish production company. ”Football’s unmatched excitement and adrenaline are captured perfectly using powerful imagery and an impactful script,” according to a company statement.

The short film is already being aired and can be seen in two spots within the streaming platform’s basic package. Netflix also leads the market share index for streaming platforms in Brazil, according to JustWatch 2023 Q4 data, which reported the company securing 27% of the market, which equates to 66 million users.

Hugo Baungartner, Aposta Ganha CCO, said: “Working with Rafa Márquez on this beautiful video piece was a joy and the results speak for themselves. Our marketing team has brilliantly captured the essence of the world’s most popular sport that is a major part of Aposta Ganha’s story. Partnering with Netflix is not only a first for the betting industry, but a golden opportunity to showcase our brand in front of millions of viewers.”
