Las Vegas Residents Paid $100 for Vaccinations?

Looking for a little extra spending money? Well, some Las Vegas residents could be paid for getting vaccinated! As strange as it sounds, the Clark County Commission is pushing a pilot program in which people living in and around Sin City would be given $100 for receiving the COVID vaccination.

Apparently, the county has some extra money lying around from a federal pandemic relief fund. That total comes to $100,000, and the Commission believes its best use would be to pay up to 1,000 for getting their Coronavirus shots.

Believe it or not, this is actually the brainchild of the White House. Last month, they encouraged local governments to use the funds from their American Rescue Plan to incentivize people to receive their vaccinations. Now, that’s what county officials are trying to do.

In a somewhat ominous statement, Commissioner Tick Segerblom stated “Going from the Raiders stadium to MGM, there’s going to be lots more places where you can’t work or go visit unless you can show you’re vaccinated.”

Las Vegas residents who are paid to get vaccinated will receive Visa cards which are loaded with $100.
