Novomatic named Austria’s second most valuable brand

Gaming technology giant Novomatic has been ranked as Austria’s second most valuable brand in the 2024 Austrian Brand Value Study by the European Brand Institute (EBI). The company also achieved third place in the Sustainable Brand Ranking.

For the 21st time, the EBI has recognized Austria’s most valuable and sustainable brands. Novomatic, which employs over 25,300 people worldwide and operates in more than 120 countries, secured top positions in both brand value and sustainability.

Novomatic’s brand value increased by 8.7% to EUR 3.745 billion ($4.01 billion), marking the largest increase among the country’s top 10 brands. Only Red Bull outranked the Lower Austrian company.

Key factors contributing to Novomatic’s high brand value include innovation, international expansion, sales growth, and a comprehensive corporate responsibility and ESG program, as validated by international ESG rating agencies. This performance also propelled Novomatic to third place in the Sustainable Brand Ranking for the first time, for its contributions to sustainable economic development in Austria.

The Austrian Brand Value Study, based on the annual “trend-TOP500 of Austria’s top-selling companies,” identifies Austrian corporate brands with more than 45% of their shares in Austrian hands. In 2024, the study evaluated 180 Austrian brand companies across 16 sectors. Brand value was determined in accordance with international standards ISO 10668 and ISO 2067.

“The top rankings in the Austrian Brand Value Study and in the Sustainable Brand Ranking confirm Novomatic’s position as one of Austria’s leading brand companies,” the company said in a statement. “The gaming technology group is thus once again setting a strong example for sustainable business practices.”
