The Palm Beach Kennel Club (PBKC) has announced a strategic partnership with the Seminole Tribe of Florida to boost enrollment for the tribe’s online sportsbook app in the state. This move aims to amplify the growth of sports betting in Florida, following the state’s recent launch of the market.
The agreement centers around the Seminole Tribe’s online sports betting app, already available to Florida citizens over the age of 21. PBKC will work in conjunction with the tribe and the Hard Rock Bet team to drive app sign-ups, planning a series of marketing campaigns and promotional initiatives, including pbkennelclub.com.
In a celebration in Broward County last Thursday, the Seminole Tribe marked the official start of craps, roulette, and sports betting in their Florida casinos. PBKC, in turn, offers new registrants a Hard Rock Bet sign-up bonus, consisting of a First Bet No Regret up to $100.
“PBKC is excited and honored to be a marketing partner with the Seminole Tribe of Florida, which is bringing sports betting to this great state,” PBKC President Patrick J. Rooney, Jr stated in a release.
“Since 1932, PBKC has evolved into a multi-faceted betting experience and has been a safe bet for 91 years. The addition of sports betting at PBKC helps us stay relevant, successful and grow and therefore contribute to the Florida economy and community.”
PBKC’s facilities boast over 600 TVs dedicated to sporting events. The Paddock Restaurant, part of the club, has recently been renovated and now features modern HDTVs, jumbo screens, and over 140 monitors dedicated to bettors.
The partnership comes at a time of transition for PBKC, which, after the ban on greyhound racing in Florida in 2018, diversified its activities to include pari-mutuel betting, poker, dining, and entertainment.
The club is located at 1111 Congress Ave., near Palm Beach International Airport, and is under contract to be sold to a real estate company. The project envisions transforming the site into a mixed-use complex with up to 2,000 residential units, while maintaining active betting operations.
This agreement between PBKC and the Seminole Tribe follows a U.S. Supreme Court decision this year that rejected attempts to block the gaming compact between the state and the tribe. This 30-year contract anticipates a return of $2.5 billion to the state in the first five years, with a projection of $6 billion by 2030, in exchange of sports betting exclusivity for the tribe and the option to expand their offerings.
The Seminole Tribe manages three main locations in South Florida: Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Seminole Classic Casino in Hollywood, and Seminole Casino Coconut Creek, all now integrated into the new phase of sports betting in the state.
