Station Casinos to launch new tavern brand with first opening scheduled for late September

Station Casinos is expanding its footprint with the launch of a new tavern gaming brand, Seventy Six by Station Casinos. The first tavern will open in late September 2024 at North Lamb Boulevard and East Centennial Parkway in North Las Vegas. Additional locations are planned, with openings scheduled for January 2025 on Kyle Canyon near U.S. 95 and on Aliante Parkway.

Station Casinos President Scott Kreeger said: “We’re always looking for opportunities to bring our products closer to our customers, and the tavern business is a natural extension of what we already do. We can grow in our big box operations, our middle-sized operations, and the taverns as well.”

The new tavern brand will operate under restricted gaming licenses, allowing up to 15 gaming machines per location. The Nevada Gaming Control Board has recommended approval for Station Casinos’ licensing, with final approval pending from the Nevada Gaming Commission on August 22.

Kreeger highlighted that the Seventy Six taverns are part of a broader strategy, with seven planned for completion by the end of 2025. Other taverns would be added as market conditions permit.

The name “Seventy Six” pays homage to the company’s origins, referencing the year 1976 when Frank Fertitta founded the company with the Bingo Palace, coinciding with the bicentennial of the Declaration of Independence.

The taverns will feature a menu curated by Chef Danny Wilkins, including dishes such as ahi tuna nachos, fried street corn tacos, and a cowboy burger. Red Rock Resorts, the parent company of Station Casinos, previously announced expansion plans during its first-quarter earnings call, identifying the tavern sector as a promising market.

Vice Chairman Lorenzo Fertitta noted at the time: “What we call kind of a smaller property seems to be very healthy and very consistent and actually growing. So as a sign relative (to market health), it’s a very local market, but that is going very well from an operating standpoint.”

The tavern concept is also expected to enhance Red Rock’s loyalty program, Boarding Pass, and attract sports bettors through STN Sports. The new brand will also introduce a VIP player’s club with exclusive promotions.
