The action is relentless at the 2024 World Series of Poker (WSOP) hosted by the Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas. Day 47 of the series had another day of action from Event #81: $10,000 WSOP Main Event World Championship as well as seven other exciting events!
Two of these other events awarded bracelets. The first bracelet winner no stranger to the experience. Calvin Anderson already had four bracelets before taking down Event #88: $10,000 Eight Game Mixed Championship, now he has five plus a $413,446 payday.
Joseph Sanders, on the other hand, was a first-timer, earning his maiden bracelet in Event 90: $1,500 6-Handed Pot-Limit Omaha.
Elsewhere at the series, the $50k High Roller reached a final five players, another long heads up match spilled over into an extra day, and the always fun Lucky 7s event kicked off.
Takao Shimizu Leads Mid-Stakes Championship Field After Day 2
Day 2 of Event #89: $3,000 Mid-Stakes Championship saw the survivors of a 3,177-entry field combine to compete together for the first time.
With $8,482,590 in the prize pool, the top prize will be $1,041,989. The closest to that prize, for now, is Takao Shimizu (3,155,000) who heads up the remaining 147 players.
Among those still in contention are Lucas Reeves (2,320,000), four-time bracelet winner Asi Moshe (2,155,000), Main Event champion Scott Blumstein (1,290,000), 25K Fantasy Draft pick John Riordan (440,000), and Brock Wilson (320,000).

$3k H.O.R.S.E. Gets Another Day
No one has beaten the $3,000 H.O.R.S.E. yet, because it just would not die. After heads up play dragged out into the small hours, the event was granted an additional day for John Racener and Gary Bolden to finish their heads up duel.
The pair are the last remaining players from a field that started out with 357 players. Whichever of the pair wins tomorrow, will walk away with $206,321 as well as the gold bracelet.
Play resumes at 1 p.m. on July 14 with betting limits at 500,000/1,000,000.

Christoph Vogelsang Leads Final Five in $50k High Roller
Event #92: $50,000 High Roller No-Limit Hold’em is down to five players after Day 2’s action. These five players are all that are left of a field of 178 total entries.
The final table is led by Christoph Vogelsang (19,250,000) who has a commanding lead over Jared Bleznick (12,800,000) in second place.
Jesse Lonis (7,500,000) rounds out the podium positions with Nacho Barbero (6,950,000) and Justin Saliba (6,900,000) completing the quintet.
The top prize for tomorrow’s winner will be $2,037,947 culled from a total prize pool of $8,499,500.
The players will be back to compete for this prize at 1 p.m. on July 14.

Day 1a of Event #93: $777 Lucky 7’s No-Limit Hold’em (7-Handed) brought 1,498 entries to the tables. That put $1,024,272 in the prize pool with two more Day 1 flights to go.
From that field, just 69 players remained after 22 blind levels of play. Michael McNeil (3,225,000) was at the top of the chip counts with Vanessa Kade (1,490,000) not far behind in the top ten.
Othe notable survivors of the day include bracelet winners David Funkhouser (3,190,000) and Jeff Sluzinski (355,000) as well as poker coaches Ognyan Dimov (1,350,000) and Kenny Hsiung (835,000).

James Chen Heads Up $10k 6-max Field
Event #94: $10,000 6-Handed No-Limit Hold’em Championship is one of the most prestigious of the WSOP Championship events. This year 418 players entered on Day 1, with a few more expected to join before late registration closes on Day 2.
Only 151 of those players bagged a stack for Day 2, with James Chen (502,500) as their chip leader. He is followed by Scott Ball (475,500), Alejandro Lococo (383,000), Adrian Mateos (360,000), and Paulius Plausinaitis (353,000) all tough players with big stacks in front of them.
Among those who entered but failed to bag were players like William Kassouf, David Coleman, Daniel Negreanu, and Mike Matusow.
The survivors — like Joao Simao (159,500), Faraz Jaka (151,000), and Main Event Champions Jack Sinclair (188,000) and Joe McKeehen (81,500) — will return on July 14 at 1 p.m. local time.

What to Expect on Day 48 of the 2024 WSOP
As has been the case for the last week, Day 48 at the 2024 WSOP is going to be all about the WSOP Main Event as it plays down to the final table. All eyes will be on Kristen Foxen as she makes a play to become the first woman to win a Main Event bracelet.
Elsewhere at the series heads up play for Event #91: $3,000 H.O.R.S.E. will be finishing up, along with the $50k High Roller.
The Lucky 7s event will have another Day 1 flight, which is likely to top today’s turnout. Two other events will also be chugging along through their middle game — Events #89 and #94.
Two new events will also join the fray. Event #96: $25,000 H.O.R.S.E is one to watch for anyone following the 25k Fantasy Draft. It is expected to attract the very best in the game for three days of high-stakes poker.
Event #95: $1,979 Poker Hall of Fame Bounty No-Limit Hold’em will kick-off with a bounty on each Poker Hall of Famer in the field. Their bounty will be equal to the year they were inducted.
