Bracelet Winner Tom Hall Takes Down $100,000 Mystery Bounty at 888poker

Tom “sheeeeeeeeet” Hall came back from second last in chips to become the latest in a long line of 888poker $100,000 Mystery Bounty Main Event champions. Hall sat down at the eight-handed final table with only 14 big blinds at his disposal, but was the last man standing in the $109 buy-in tournament, a result worth $9,581.

A field of 1,029 created a $102,900 prize pool, which included some hefty bounties. Ukraine’s “kremen89” pulled out a $3,000 bounty before busting in 46th place, but the biggest bounty went to Mexico’s “RamboTheDog,” who scooped a cool $10,000 from the golden envelope they opened before falling in 44th.

Day 1 ended with only eight players in the hunt to become the event’s champion. “DaDumon” was the chip leader with 4,557,105 chips (76 big blinds), with “MariaDnk” bringing up the rear with 492,000 chips (eight big blinds).

$100,000 Mystery Bounty Final Table Chip Counts

The first hand at the final table resulted in the first elimination. “a1esana” min-raised to 120,000 on the button with pocket jacks, “ThaiMagick” three-bet all-in from the small blind with king-five suited, and “a1esana” called off the 1,426,342 chips they had behind. A king on the turn dealt a cruel blow to “a1esana,” and they exited in eighth place.

Short-stack “MariaDnk” allowed their stack to dwindle to less than 2.5 big blinds, meaning any shove they made would be called, lowering their equity. “ThaiMagick” raised in late position with queen-four, “Surin54321” called in the cutoff with ace-ten of diamonds, and “MariaDnk” called all in with pocket queens. “ThaiMagick” check-called a bet on the four-six-ace flop, but check-folded to more aggression on the turn. The river was not the case queen, and “MariaDnk” was gone.

“Iulianbob” was running on fumes and decided to jam their last 2.5 big blinds into the middle with six-five of diamonds. Hall called with queen-jack, and “ThaiMagick” called in the big blind with nine-eight. Hall took down the pot and eliminated “Ilulianbob” after turning two pair on a draw-heavy board.

Fifth place went to Brazilian “wdias21” after they lost a coinflip against the aggressive “ThaiMagick.” The min-raise of “ThaiMagick” from under the gun was three-bet all-in by “wdias21” in the big blind, and “ThaiMagick” called. It was pocket jacks for “wdias21” against king-queen, and the king-queen flopped two pair.

“ThaiMagick” was the chip leader going into four-handed play, yet they were the next player heading for the exits. First, their ace-queen lost to the dominated ace-four of “DaDumon,” then lost another chunk getting too frisky with king-ten and folding to Hall’s shove before shoving 27 big blinds into the middle from the small blind with ace-four and losing to the ace-king of “Surin54321.”

Heads-up was reached when “DaDumon” made an ill-timed move with ten-nine suited. The opened with a 7.4 big blind raise from the button, leaving only six big blinds behind. Hall moved all-in from the big blind with ace-seven, which held on a jack-high board after “DaDumon” called all-in.

Hall went into heads-up with a more than two-to-one chip lead over fellow Brit “Surin54321.” The contest was over five minutes later. Hall min-raised with seven-six of hearts, and “Surin54321” called with jack-deuce. The flop fell ten-deuce-deuce, “Surin54321” check-called a Hall continuation-bet. The eight of hearts on the turn gave Hall outs to a flush, and a gutshot straight and straight flush draw. “Surin54321” checked, Hall bet, and “Surin54321” min-check raised; Hall called. The ace of hearts completed Hall’s flush “Surin54321” checked again, Hall shoved, and “Surin54321” instantly called with the second-best hand.

$100,000 Mystery Bounty Final Table Results

While Hall was busy navigating his way to yet another win in the online poker world, the 888poker ChampionChip Games were busy crowning their champions. The ChampionChip Games run from October 22-31, featuring 30 numbered low-stakes events, each named after a sport.

Eight ChampionChip events are done and dusted, including the $22 Boxing, a six-max PKO affair that “LuiMartins” took down for $1,819. The Brazilian grinder took down last week’s $100,000 Mystery Bounty at 888poker.
