WSOP Online US: Rabinowitz Scores First Bracelet, Engel Adds Another as Series Wraps Up

The World Series of Poker (WSOP) Online wrapped up its Fall 2023 series in the United States with 33 winners spread across 37 days in New Jersey and Nevada.

The two states joined WSOP.CA, where Canadians played for eight WSOP bracelets, and by players in international WSOP Online series. In total, there were 74 bracelets handed out throughout the planet.

The U.S. series handed out $8,307,208 in prizes over 33 total tournaments that each awarded a WSOP title to players in New Jersey and Nevada, and several players added to their already impressive WSOP resumes.

Foxen Wins #4; Anderson, Shorr, and Dunlap Add Two

Kristen Foxen won her fourth WSOP bracelet

Among the winners was Kristen “krissyb24” Foxen, who picked up her fourth WSOP bracelet in $888 NLH Crazy 8’s. Foxen had a stellar series with other close calls, including a fourth-place finish in the $5,300 NLH Super High Roller 6-Max — where Calvin “projector52” Anderson won his fifth bracelet.

Anderson picked up his fourth WSOP title just days earlier in the $1,000 PLO 6-Max, while Foxen also nearly picked up her fifth in the second half of the series with a runner-up finish to Denise “dprx1” Pratt in the $3,200 High Roller Championship.

Shannon “aulophobia” Shorr finished third behind Foxen and Pratt in that tournament for what would have been his second WSOP bracelet after he finally picked up his first in the $2,000 NLH 6-Max. The disappointment of a near-miss faded fast for Shorr and he picked up a win just three events later in the $1,000 NLH Freezeout.

The other multiple winner was Guy “phillaak” Dunlap, who picked up his second and third bracelets in the $1,000 NLH Bounty Freezeout and the $500 NLH Super Turbo.

Rabinowitz Wins His First, Engel His Third

The final stretch of the series featured wins from Ari “palmtreeb” Engel, Darren “avocadotoast” Rabinowitz, and Justin “lappypoker” Lapka.

Engel took a break from dominating the WSOP Circuit to win his third bracelet in the $500 NLH Turbo 6-Max against a field of 196 players. The win was good for $38,197 and the first online bracelet for Engel, who has WSOP titles in the 2019 $2,500 No Limit Hold’em and the 2021 $10,000 Omaha Hi/Lo Championship. It’s another banner year for Engel, who has been dutifully building a Poker Hall of Fame resume with Circuit titles all over the country.

Ari Engel won his third WSOP title.

Rabinowitz won his first bracelet in the $1,000 NLH Online Championship — a win that put him over $3 million in career earnings, according to the Hendon Mob. The WSOP title breaks a long wait for Rabinowitz, who won WSOP Circuit rings in 2013 and 2014. He beat Scott “Rumcake” Ball in heads-up play to survive a final table that also included Anthony Maio, Yong Kwon, and $500 No-Limit Hold’em bracelet event winner Brian “pure__reason” Wood.

The Super High Roller is the first six-figure score for Lapka, who padded his bankroll with $106,068.
