Las Vegas Sands announced that it has contributed $150,000 to The LGBTQ+ Center of Las Vegas. The money will go to support a workforce training and employment initiative for unhoused and housing-insecure youth through the organization’s Espresso Yourself Café program.
Las Vegas Sands Helps The LGBTQ+ Center of Las Vegas
The initiative will provide 20 young adults aged 18 to 24 with hands-on work experience and transferable job skills through the development of the Espresso Yourself Café mobile coffee truck. For 30 years, The Center has served as an essential resource in the Las Vegas Valley, offering a welcoming and inclusive space for programs, wellness services, educational opportunities, events, and support for LGBTQ+ individuals and their allies.
It’s not the first time that Las Vegas Sands and the LGBTQ+ Center of Las Vegas have worked together. Their partnership began through Sands Cares in 2021 with a contribution that supported the expansion of the Arlene Cooper Community Health Center. Since then, Sands has continued its Sands Cares investments, helping The Center enhance its health care services, upgrade its main facility, and maintain its administrative operations.
Later, from 2023 to 2025, The Center participated in the Sands Cares Accelerator program. It gained support to strengthen and expand its marketing and communications capabilities through the exclusive three-year capacity-building program. Sands and The Center recently marked the organization’s graduation from the Sands Cares Accelerator, celebrating achievements that included increased media and social media visibility, enhanced recognition as a leader in community-based care, and heightened national awareness.
The donation comes just as Sands is preparing an ambitious expansion project in Singapore.
John Waldron, CEO of The Center, said Sands’ ongoing partnership is helping create meaningful opportunities for vulnerable youth to build confidence, develop job skills, and gain valuable real-world work experience. He added that the program embodies The Center’s mission of providing a safe and welcoming environment where individuals can grow, thrive, and realize their full potential.
Meanwhile, Ron Reese, senior vice president of global communications and corporate affairs at Las Vegas Sands, said the new phase of Sands’ partnership with The Center aligns closely with the company’s global commitment to workforce development. He noted that Sands has also prioritized addressing youth homelessness in Las Vegas. He claimed this is a natural extension of its community investment efforts. Reese added that the company expects the program to deliver meaningful benefits for both The Center and the young people who participate.
In other news about Las Vegas Sands, a few weeks ago, the company published its financial results for the first quarter of 2026 and recorded a large double-digit increase in net revenue.
