2026 FIFA World Cup Group Stage

Good news, English fans! It may be coming home! England is a heavy favorite to win its game against Ghana and by what we have seen from the team so far in the tournament, there is a good chance this will be another high-scoring affair with most of the points going to the 1966 World Cup winners

Ghana are coming from a (+1250) underdog position, meaning that the team will have to focus on defense, with the eventual auspicious counterattack.

England Off to Explosive Start, Ghana the Latest Hurdle Out of Group Stage

England is pretty much done with its biggest mental challenge in the Group Stage – Croatia. One of the most formidable teams in recent years, Croatia was supposed to give England a good run for its money and it did – with the game becoming a rapid exchange of goals, with Harry Kane opening in 12’ followed by Croatia’s payback in 36’ by Martin Baturina

Croatia’s defense eventually collapsed under the English juggernaut with the team seeing Kane score a second time in 42’ and Jude Bellingham and Marcus Rashford finishing off the final score as 4-2.

Now, what this means is that England has built a highly-versatile team that does not rely on a single player, and this is something that will continue to pay off in the long term for the team indeed.

How about Ghana, then? Posted as a heavy underdog at +1250 there is no credible chance the team will be making a surprise upset, especially after England managed to hold its own so well against Croatia – the runner-ups to the 2018 World Cup after all.

Ghana, for its part, did well against Panama in their most recent game, but pried a single point only and couldn’t push past this. Ghana has ended up 0-1-5 over their last six games, not counting the 2026 World Cup opener, that is, and while some skeptics said the team would be losing to Panama, the nation vindicated itself.

But what can it do against England? The truth is not much. Ghana will play a reactionary game. The team is well-disciplined and does the best it can with the players it has, but ultimately, England will continue to prod and exploit any vulnerabilities it can figure out in the team’s backline.

If you must place a bet on this game, we strongly recommend backing England to Win (-450) and possibly put another wager on Over 2.5 (-145). While an upset could wipe out any gains, we believe that a same-game parlay could bring some excellent value if you are willing to stake a little more.

Pick: England to Win (-450)
