Country Singer Bailey Zimmerman Faces Charges for Allegedly Trashing Casino

Bailey Zimmerman, an American country singer, is facing felony and misdemeanor charges in New Mexico after allegedly causing more than $16,000 in damage by destroying his hotel room in the Sandia Resort & Casino in Albuquerque.

Zimmerman Allegedly Has Violent Drunken Episode in Casino

According to legal documents obtained by TMZ, Sandia Police filed paperwork on June 18 seeking an arrest warrant for the country music star. The documents indicate authorities are pursuing a felony charge of criminal damage to property and a misdemeanor charge of falsely obtaining services.

The incident allegedly happened on May 27 at the Sandia Resort & Casino, where he was scheduled to perform. However, hotel security reportedly told police that he appeared intoxicated throughout the evening.

Authorities allege that Bailey appeared unsteady and combative during sound check, reportedly throwing microphones to the ground, tossing cymbals, and knocking over part of the drum kit. Documents claim that he repeatedly walked off the stage before ultimately abandoning the sound check and returning to the resort.

As he prepared to leave, authorities allege that Bailey spat in the direction of a nearby security officer and complained about being assigned a white SUV rather than a black one before ultimately entering the vehicle. According to court documents, Bailey appeared heavily impaired upon returning to the resort. Officials claim he was stumbling, lost a shoe, had a bloodied knee, and required assistance from a member of his entourage while walking through the hallway.

Authorities allege that Bailey initially refused to leave the resort on a bus provided by hotel management, prompting staff to contact law enforcement. Police say he later complied, boarded the bus, and was escorted off the property.

Sandia Resort & Casino further alleged that more than $400 worth of alcohol had been charged to the room but remained unpaid. According to court documents, both resort personnel and law enforcement attempted to contact Bailey and members of his team. However, neither the hotel nor the authorities received a response, ultimately leading to the issuing of the arrest warrant.

In an official statement, the country singer apologized to everyone at Sandia Resort & Casino. “I am deeply sorry for my actions that transpired. I respect your community and the hospitality, and appreciate the opportunity that was given to me to perform on Native Land,” Zimmerman said. “I take full accountability for everything that happened, and I am sorry to anyone who feels hurt or disrespected.”

Zimmerman also talked to his fans, saying that he was deeply sorry and that they deserved better from him. He acknowledged that being a musician comes with significant responsibilities, both on and off the stage, and admitted that he had fallen short of those responsibilities that day. He added that he was reflecting on the disappointment and concern he had caused.

Finally, he concluded he was taking the legal matter seriously and was committed to doing the work necessary to learn and grow. He also thanked his fans for holding him accountable and for understanding that he is human, adding that he does not take their support for granted.
