The Massachusetts Lottery confirmed that a lucky player has won a life-changing $4 million prize from its $4,000,000 In The Money scratch-off game. As the ticket’s title suggests, $4 million is the best prize one can hope to win from the $10 game.
The incredible prize was claimed via a trust by the name of the Love Trust of Quincy. The trust, which represents the player who preferred to remain anonymous, opted to take the one-time lump sum option rather than the annuity. As a result, the winner received a one-time payment of $2.6 million (before taxes).
Lottery officials confirmed that the winning ticket was purchased from Quality Gas & Mart in Seekonk. The store is set to receive a $40,000 incentive bonus for selling the winning ticket.
