Player Wins $2.2 Million “Mega” Jackpot At Venetian

George poses after his jackpot win

A player at The Venetian Las Vegas won a jackpot worth more than $2 million on Sunday, July 12, according to the casino.

The lucky player, called George, was visiting Vegas on holiday and stopped by The Venetian to play some Ultimate Texas Hold’em. George was dealt a royal flush in spades, earning him a big win in the main game.

However, he had also put a $5 side bet in, which meant that he had action in the Millionaire Progressive jackpots. George’s royal flush earned him the “Mega” tier of the progressive jackpot, generating a total win of $2,235,550 on a single hand.

According to an Instagram post from The Venetian, of the three biggest jackpots won at the casino up until May the second biggest was $2.2 million, around the size of George’s win. Depending on the amount of rounding, this would make George’s win the second or third biggest jackpot paid out by the Venetian recently.

Action at the Venetian

The Venetian has seen a lot of big action lately.

In the week prior to George’s win, a player on the Buffalo Diamond Extreme slot game won $764,467 on a bet of $35.

At the beginning of July, the Venetian poker room also hosted the Venetian DeepStack Championship where millions of dollars were won and lost across 69 nice, small stakes, live poker tournaments.
