The Ohio Lottery announced that an extremely lucky local man has won not once, but twice. The man purchased his second winning ticket shortly after scoring the first win because he was “feeling lucky.”
The Man Was Not Simply Feeling Lucky, He Was Lucky
According to the Ohio Lottery’s official announcement, the man in question, identified only as an Ohio resident from Toledo, had purchased a $50 Millionaire Blowout ticket. After scratching it, the extremely lucky individual realized that he had just won $40,000 a year for 25 years – a prize that stacks up to a staggering $1 million.
The man ultimately chose to go with the one-time lump sum payment of $500,000. As a result, he will receive $366,250 after mandatory state and federal taxes of 26.75%.
However, the player was not quite done yet. Emboldened by his big win, the player decided to give the lottery another shot and went to buy another ticket. To his surprise, that ticket netted him another $25,000. After taxes, he will take home $18,312.50 on top of his six-figure payout from the earlier ticket.
In an interview with lottery officials, the man said that he plans to use his newfound fortune to take a longer vacation. After that, he is planning to buy a new vehicle and treat his kids a bit. The rest will go into his bank, the man added.
For reference, the jackpot winning ticket was purchased at Mike’s Corner Store located at 2425 Key St. in Toledo.
The Millionaire Blowout game features top prizes of $40K a year for 25 years and second-tier prizes of $25,000. As of the time of this writing, there are 56 top prizes remaining, as well as 46 second-tier prizes.
