The Massachusetts Lottery has launched its operations online for the first time on Monday, July 27, allowing players from the state to buy instant and draw-based games through the lottery’s dedicated app and website for the first time ever.
The rollout has been aided by Aristocrat Interactive, the technological partner powering the historic launch.
Draw and eInstant Games Now Available Through Massachusetts Lottery App and Website
The iLottery platform has been delivered complete with various engagement and customer protection measures, including cooling-off periods, self-exclusion options, frequent reminders about responsible gambling, deposit and play limits, as well as a blanket ban on the use of credit cards to fund a customer’s lottery habit.
Customers now have access to popular draw games, such as Megabucks, Mega Millions, the Powerball and Mass Cash, along with 20 eInstant games at launch, which will expand over the coming weeks. In fact, the lottery has confirmed that two new eInstant games will be released every two weeks.
This launch has been hailed as a significant milestone for the lottery, with the Massachusetts State Lottery Commission chair Deborah Goldberg attesting as much. In a statement, Goldberg spoke highly of the significant achievement the launch represented, adding:
“Online lottery will allow us to compete on a more level playing field in the state’s gaming marketplace and sales will help make childcare more affordable for families across Massachusetts.”
Biggest Milestone Since Launching the Lottery in 1972
Mass Lottery Executive Director Mark William Bracken has spoken of the momentous opportunity, with the lottery selling its first ticket in 1972, which quickly allowed the organization to become one of the top lotteries in the world, and now experiencing another significant moment.
“In creating Mass Lottery Online, we took a similar approach that gives our players new play experiences with the same standards they have grown to expect, wherever in Massachusetts they find themselves,” Bracken said.
Aristocrat Interactive has similarly welcomed the game, with Chief Executive Dylan Slaney speaking highly of the opportunity to see his company become the go-to technological provider for the Massachusetts Lottery.
