Powerball Jackpot Nears $100M, Seven Players Win $100K Each

The Monday Powerball drawing has gone without big winners as players across the US and UK were unable to match all six numbers required to win the jackpot. The drawing had no Match 5 winners either, but seven players won $100,000 each.

Seven Players Won $100K Each

The Powerball drawing that took place on August 24 had players competing for a top prize of $83 million with a cash option of $35.5 million. However, it seems that the jackpot wasn’t ripe enough, since the drawing did not elect a winner. At the same time, players were unable to match all five white numbers required for a seven-figure Match 5 prize.

For reference, the winning numbers drawn yesterday were 3, 16, 33, 38, and 68, plus the red Powerball 2. The Power Play multiplier for that drawing was 2x.

As mentioned, there were no seven-figure prizes, but a dozen players managed to match four white numbers and the Powerball to win the game’s tier-three prize. Five of these players took home $50,000 each, while the remaining seven secured payouts of $100,000 each thanks to the Power Play feature.

Since the jackpot remained unconquered, it has continued its creep toward the $100 million mark. The estimated size of the top prize for the drawing set to take place this Wednesday is $96 million. A hypothetical winner would also be able to pick the lump sum of $41.2 million in case the annuity option isn’t to their liking.

Powerball Continues to Provide Amazing Awards

In other news, the Saturday Powerball drawing also had no Match 5 winners. The top prizes for that drawing were three payouts of $150,000 that went to players who matched four white numbers plus the red Powerball and had the Power Play feature active. The Power Play multiplier for that drawing was 3x.

The most recent Powerball jackpot win happened only a few drawings ago when an Illinois Lottery player won a stellar $1 billion prize. It should be noted that this was the second-largest jackpot in the state’s history, second only to a $1.33-billion jackpot that was won in 2022. The win was also the sixth jackpot win for 2026.

As the Powerball prize continues to grow, fans are eagerly anticipating the seventh jackpot for the year.
