The Powerball jackpot has passed the $100 million mark after players failed to win it one more time. The game’s top prize has now reached $119 million as the Saturday drawing approaches.
The Powerball Jackpot Continued to Elude Players
The Wednesday Powerball drawings had participants playing for a top prize of $98 million with a cash option of $51.1 million. However, players did not succeed in matching all six winning numbers required to win the top prize, allowing it to pass the $100 million threshold and reach nine-figure territory.
For reference, the winning white numbers drawn on August 26 were 12, 32, 45, 50, and 58. The red Powerball was 2 and the Power Play multiplier was 2x.
Despite the sizeable sum on the line, players did not manage to nail the winning combination required to win it. At the same time, there weren’t any Match 5 prizes in the draw.
However, several players succeeded in matching four white numbers and the red Powerball, which netted them tier-three prizes. Five of these players won $50,000 each, while the remaining three took home $100,000 each, thanks to Power Play and the 2x multiplier.
As a result of the drawing, the Powerball jackpot has reached $119 million for the next drawing. If someone happens to win it, they would be able to either take the annuity option for the full sum or the cash option of $51.1 million.
The next drawing is set to take place this Saturday, providing players with another chance to win a life-changing sum.
